Shakhnoz AbdullaevaUzbekistan, 1965
In 1989 she graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts of Tashkent Institute of Theatre (class of Chinghiz Akhmarov). The main themes of her works are women of the East - legendary goddesses, queens, and poetesses; angels, and the idea of a continuous flow of time. One of the frequent motifs in her paintings is the Wheel of Fortune. In appreciation of the traditional art of Central Asia and role of Ch. Akhmarov in forming her individual style, Shakhnoz likes to describe herself as "a young sprout of the old root."
