Edouard Kazarian
Edouard Kazarian was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He graduated from the Almaty State Institute of Theater and Arts in 1992. He has had over fifty personal exhibitions and participated in more than 150 group projects worldwide.
Kazarian works in sculpture, textiles and graphic arts. He is well-known in his native city for murals and public sculpture in steel, stone, bronze and ceramics.
Together with friends and fellow artists Andrey Noda and Marat Bekeev (group informally known as the 'Triumvirate'), Khazaryan is active in community life holding regular master classes in children’s hospitals in several Kazakh cities. In 2015, Khazaryan opened to the public the Kazarian Art Center. Conceived as a studio for his monumental sculptural projects, the space evolved in the city’s largest private gallery with a robust program of exhibitions, lectures, and studio art classes.
Kazarian is a recipient of the independent Tarlan Award in 2000. In 2011, he was awarded the golden medal of Armenia’s Ministry of Culture for contributions to the advancement of Armenian culture. In 2012, he received the Kazakh national prize Altyn Adam (Man of the year).
He lives and works in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
