Tho Tran

Tran THO studied at École des Beaux Arts in Paris until 1947. He is known as an exponential artist of the Vietnamese Art, receiving an Honor Mention at the Biennale di Venezia of 1954 and 1956. He also participated and received prizes at the Sao Paulo’s Biennial, between 1955 and 1965, when started to divide domicile and studio between New York, São Paulo and Rome. He had several individual exhibitions in Japan, Israel, Italy, Whisker, Monaco, United States and France. In his art we find the synthesis of the eastern and western techniques, forms and content that join tradition and modernity. With great disciplines, THO celebrates free art and messages transmitted through a magnificent colorful expression. With a free and determined gestural, the flicks, the lines and the spots form a proper style, with combine’s textures that go from shades, leached ashes and blacks to the shining colors. His works can be found in diverse collections, such as: Clube da Urca, Rio De Janeiro; National Bank, São Paulo; Bank of Boston, São Paulo; Gallery Registers, São Paulo.
