BiographyBorn in Baysour, near Beirut in 1948, Jamil Molaeb received a Bachelor of Arts from the Institute of Fine Arts, at the Lebanese University, in 1972. He then studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Algeria in 1973, and obtained a Masters degree in Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute, New York in 1987, and a PhD in artistic education philosophy from the Ohio State University in 1989. Jamil taught etching lessons at Ohio State University iin 1988, and now teaches in the Institute of Fine Arts in the Lebanese University, Beirut. He is a member of the Lebanese Artists Association for Drawing and Sculpting, and a member of the board of directors of the association (1993). Jamil is the recipient of many awards, including the UNESCO award and the Sursock Museum award.
