BiographyBorn in a family of artists, Monique Flosi lives ahs been at ease with painting,portraiture, fresco, engraving, and writing. She lives and works in the magnificent setting of Fontaube, between the Gordes and Saint-Saturnin-les- Apt.
After a diploma in engraving from the Ecole des Beaux-arts of Marseille and a Master's in fine arts from the University of Provence which she obtained in 1973, she trained in lithography at the Atelier Jo Berto in Marseille and opened her own workshop in the Arcenaulx. She taught visual arts and printmaking at the University of Provence. She opened her new workshop in Apt in 2004.
Drawing her sources of inspiration from mythology, philosophy and occult sciences, Flosi sees the process of printmaking as the way to release the subconscious. She engraves with a fierce desire to eradicate what haunts her, collusion and challenge, curiosity of life or enigma of the future.
